Coaching fees are a common concern and question I get a lot. I know what it's like to discover coaching and to get excited about the possibility of working with someone, then finding out you could never afford to go. I also know the power coaching has to transform lives. I am committed to making sure as many people as possible can afford coaching if they want to make the commitment to do it.

Many coaches do not list their prices on their web sites.  There are good and bad reasons for this.  The biggest reason to not list prices on a website is because coaches want the opportunity to talk to you first about the benefits of coaching and “sell you” on the cost once you are sitting in the office.

But, as a consumer, it frustrates me no end when I go online to get some simple information only to be foiled by an incomplete web site. I believe in complete transparency when it comes to my prices. However, I do want the chance to talk to you before you decide you can't afford coaching based on what you read here.

My belief is that you’ve found me and my particular site for a reason, and that you have arrived at a place in your life and career where you realize you’ve got to make a change. You realize that the “Good, Fast, and Cheap” model likely doesn’t apply to coaching either. Have you heard this? For any product or service, you can only have 2 of the 3 at one time, never all three at once.  So if you want something Good and Fast, it won’t be Cheap. If you want something Fast and Cheap, it won’t be Good. And if you want something Cheap but still Good, it sure won’t come Fast!

I have found that coaching isn’t just good – it’s great! And there isn’t any faster method to create change than coaching, at least none that I know of!

How much do you charge for a session?

I no longer offer single, one-time-only sessions, or what I previously called “pay as you go.”  A client might purchase one session every 4-6 weeks and see me “as needed.”  I found that clients on these plans did not make the progress they hoped to make and ended up discouraged and disappointed. Part of the power of coaching comes from the momentum you gain from focused, accountable attention to your goals.

I have revamped my package offerings over the years based on my experiences with clients. While coaching does work quickly, it is not an overnight change. I do offer a one-month package of two private sessions to allow clients to budget for coaching without having to make a large, up-front payment.  My two- and three-month packages are more economical, and I offer significant discounts for those who can pay in full and "quick pay," or pay within 48 hours of our introduction session. These expanded packages offer additional coaching opportunities and services, such as resume and LinkedIn profile development.

I offer three methods to work with me: individual, private sessions; a coaching group for aspiring executives; and a 3-day weekend retreat filled with all my best workshops and change management exercises.

Read about these packages below, and we can discuss your investment in coaching at your no-cost 30-45 minute introduction session by phone or in person.

How can I afford coaching?

Some coaches may tell you that investing in coaching is as simple as giving up a Starbucks coffee every day. It's not. It will be more of a sacrifice, and you may decide that investing in yourself and your future is not a priority for you at this time in your life.  I have worked with many, many clients who have dramatically increased their income from finding a new job; or improved their executive presence and communication skills so that they received sought-after promotions that came with a sizable raise in salary.

If you do decide it's worth it, you may need to consciously budget for coaching. Some clients put the cost of coaching on their credit card and work with their accountant to ensure they can deduct this as a job search expense on their taxes. This article on The Ladders website may be helpful to review:

I do offer payment plans and the ability to spread out your payments over a longer period of time.  In addition, I offer substantial discounts for clients who pay in full for their coaching package by their first session with me.

You can receive this full pay discount and still take advantage of six months to pay with no interest by using PayPal Credit.  I can send you an invoice or you can visit PayPal and use my email address to access my payment portal on PayPal (drew@solution-focusedcoaching.com). For more information, visit the PayPal website.

If you are ready to make the commitment to change your life and reach your goals - and nothing you've done on your own has worked so far - I can tell you coaching will make a dramatic difference in the way your life unfolds going forward.

Are there other ways to get coaching without paying for private sessions?

My workshops are an excellent way to get some of the benefits of coaching at a reduced cost. I do offer limited group coaching options on Thursday evenings. Read more about these options here.

I offer three ways to work with me:  private coaching sessions; group coaching sessions; and a weekend group retreat options.  Read below for more information about each option.

Coaching option 1 is my private coaching offerings.  This option provides complete support for anyone seeking to grow in their career but who feel stuck trying to move beyond limitations in and around them. You may choose to work with me for one month, two months or three months at a time.

My career exploration program is available for those who choose to work with me for three months.

Option 2 banner

For clients wishing for a more economical choice for coaching can take advantage of coaching option 2.  Coaching groups can be a very effective way to experience the power of coaching in a group setting, and allows each participant to benefit from the coaching others receive during the sessions.  You'll start with a private discovery session with me by phone to ensure you get started on the best path possible. I offer four group coaching sessions per month and you can attend as many as you want.  Plus for each month you are in a group, you can schedule a private coaching call with me to reinforce the learning and growth you're experiencing in the group.  I offer significant discounts for those who sign up for 2 and 3 months of group coaching.

Option 3 banner

Coaching option 3 is the chance to experience as much career coaching as possible in a short amount of time - three days to be exact.  This weekend retreat was borne out of my previous "Strategy: You" workshops, a series of 4 workshops that have now been retooled and consolidated into a three-day format. Plus I have added many more activities and exercises - both group and personal - all designed to deepen your learning and growth.  This energizing and interactive weekend starts out on Friday evening, runs all day Saturday until 4 pm, and wraps up Sunday morning. All breakfasts and lunches are provided as well as snacks throughout the day to keep you fresh and engaged. I have designed this retreat so you will receive one-on-one attention from me during a private strategy session during the weekend.  We'll take that time to ensure that the goals you identified (during the included Discovery session we'll have prior to the weekend) are being addressed.  Then to help you continue to grow after the weekend is done, you'll have the chance to schedule 2 coaching phone calls with me in the two months following the retreat.
